MH is a sort of temperamentaltest that is used mainly by breeds of the Working group. Shaadar is what we believe the very first Afghanhound to pass the test
WAY to Go Rose marie and Shaadar!!
"Shaadar" is owned by Rose Marie Granqvist in Stockholm Sweden. He is one of those rare afghans that have a family that is intrested in all aspects of living with dogs. Obiedence, shows, agility, lurecoursing etc. So do not be surprised if you will see him and read about him in many different ways.
He is not severly showns as a youngster but will be more shown this upcoming year now when he has reached the adulthood. ( 2 years). He won his first CAC as a nine month old "baby".
This year (2000) he as been working with his lure coursing licence and meanwhile have had a lot of fun.
His first trial in Lure after getting the licence was at Skokloster sighthound speciality shows and he was placed 8 /14 @ 66.75 points. The judges were Pertti Päiviranta Finland and Jonny Hedberg Sweden.
The next outing was at Uppsala Nat. LC, 10 sep 00. He placed 1 / 4 @ 66.25 points. The judges were Per Nordahl and Jonny Hedberg, Sweden.
He was also placed in intermediate class at Skokloster, but I guess he had his mind focused on the lure all weekend!
Flash - Flash Shadaar did his MH test - Flash
This is a special temperament test originally developed for working dogs. It includes all sort of distractions and "scary" things to measure the dogs reaction to strange stuff and his capability to cope with it and still stay calm. It also include gunshots- Shadaar is one of the very first sighthounds/afghanhounds to take the test and he did well and now could add MH to his other capabilities. WELL DONE
He is now training for his LP title in Obidience and hopefully he will be good enough soon to be able to get out there and trail for that title as well as he is working on his lure title. If possible he will get the two missing CAC's for the showtitle next year too.
We have high expectations in him and hope he will be able to get all those three titles! It will be a lot of hard work and dedication but it is not impossible
